Biography

Peter Herbert is one of the UK’s best-known lawyers. He is a successful barrister and also operates as a part-time judge.  Peter is a Founder and Chair of the British Society of Black Lawyers.

He was drawn to the Law at an early age and went on to study at Bradford University. Peter has since enjoyed a high-profile career, dealing with a number of cases which have attracted widespread media coverage.

Peter Herbert is often referred to as a campaigning lawyer because his time is largely spent fighting for causes he deeply believes in.  They include the plight of refugees and the treatment of minorities in the UK.  He has also been a key spokesman in the fight against racism in football.

The Queen recognised Peter’s extensive work and achievements in the field of human rights and diversity when she awarded him the OBE in 2010.
