Biography
Work is very important to people. That’s why the advice Innes gives to his clients is extremely important.
Innes is a leading expert in employment law. He heads up the employment law team at top law firm, Morton Fraser LLP, and also delivers lectures on the subject to students at both Edinburgh and Napier University.
Innes advises both employers and employees on a wide range of issues that relate to the workplace, including unfair dismissal, redundancy and discrimination.
An important part of his work involves Employment Tribunals where he uses his knowledge and experience to help protect the interests of the clients he represents.
In addition, Innes is active on twitter (@innes_clark) and produces articles and blogs on key issues relating to employment law.
In Innes’ own words:
“I did not start out with the intention of becoming a lawyer when I studied law at university but I started my traineeship in Ayr and particularly enjoyed the employment law issues that I was asked to help with.
Since moving to Edinburgh after completing my traineeship in 1998 I have specialised in employment law which is a fast moving and fascinating area.
Work is a very important part of people’s lives and the stakes are usually very high when advising on the best way to deal with a situation. This makes it a challenging but, ultimately, rewarding area to be working in.
When I’m not working I enjoy playing golf and travelling.”
