Biography
Laura is one of the country’s leading lawyers in the field of health and safety. She finds it very satisfying that her expert knowledge often allows her to advise large organisations on their Health and Safety responsibilities. This helps prevent accidents in the first place.
Laura also argues cases in court, often defending clients from prosecution or representing their interest at Fatal Accident Inquiries.
Along with her case work, she speaks at conferences and events, and writes papers on Health and Safety matters. She is the Chair of the Health and Safety Lawyers Association in Scotland.
Laura is a Partner and Head of the Risk Advisory Group at the international law firm, Pinsent Masons. This means she has a busy working life. The Group has just short of 600 lawyers located across the Globe and Laura’s management role takes her to places such as Shanghai, Singapore, Dubai, Paris and Munich on a regular basis.
She decided to become a lawyer at school and, having worked hard to gain the necessary qualifications, chose to study Law at Aberdeen University.
Since entering the legal profession, Laura has built up a great reputation. Her entry in the important Legal 500 directory states she “has a huge depth of knowledge and is excellent at communicating her advice”.
