Biography
Laura is a talented young solicitor within the Dispute Resolution department at Anderson Strathern.
She graduated from the University of Strathclyde with an LL.B (Hons) in 2012 and went on to complete her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice a year later at Strathclyde, finishing in June 2013. For six months prior to joining Anderson Strathern she worked with a criminal defence solicitor advocate in Glasgow
Laura was elected as the Vice President and executive committee member of the Scottish Young Lawyers Association for 2015/2016.
In Laura’s own words:
“I was drawn to the Law by the prospect of helping people – being able to work closely with people to solve their problems is an attractive and challenging career path. Becoming a lawyer was not on the radar at school but I latterly realised that it gave me the opportunity to continually develop throughout the whole of my career. No two days are the same and I find that exciting!
“I am now heavily involved in the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association and a major motivation for this is to increase access to justice in Scotland, and also to encourage individuals from all backgrounds to get involved in law.”
