You may not expect to see a top lawyer like Lindy on a construction site wearing a hard hat … but you would be wrong. She is a legal expert in construction and engineering and has visited many building sites in the course of her work.

As a Scot, Lindy is proud to have provided legal advice relating to some iconic Scottish landmarks including Murrayfield rugby stadium in Edinburgh and the Forth Rail and Road Bridges.

With many years of experience, she now operates at an international level and has acted as an advocate in many major energy projects, from wind farms to hydro-electric and gas storage schemes.

In 2010 Lindy became a QC and is now a Partner with CMS, the world’s sixth largest law firm.  Lindy is a former pupil of Eyemouth High School in the Scottish Borders.  She studied Law at Edinburgh University.

School Visit

lpatterson170x200Lindy received a great welcome when she visited her former high school in the small fishing village of Eyemouth.  Lindy’s enjoyable session was warmly welcomed by teaching staff and offered senior students an opportunity to meet and question one of their school’s most prominent former pupils.

During the session, Lindy said young people should be encouraged to understand and respect the law.  She dealt with a wide range of topics including her own experiences as a pupil, her work as a lawyer and the advice she would offer today’s youngsters.

Lindy’s friendly, informal advice was very valuable to the pupils at an important stage in their life.

Moreover, as an expert in construction and engineering disputes, she challenged many of the stereotypes commonly held by young people regarding lawyers and the work they do.

Speaking after the visit, Patrick Gaffney, Director of Impressive People, warmly thanked Lindy for inspiring the students in such an enjoyable and interesting manner.
