Biography
Mike’s career in law saw him become one of Scotland’s leading corporate lawyers. He studied at Edinburgh University before embarking on a career specialising in corporate law, particularly within the financial services sector. Mike rose rapidly to become a senior partner in one of the country’s largest law firms. After over 25 years working within corporate law, in 2013 he moved to a new leadership role within the legal market, heading up a significant new office in Scotland for Ashurst LLP, one of the world’s top ten international law firms. Mike grew up in Lerwick on the Shetland Islands where the high performance education environment combined with the close and supportive community helped develop the talent and self-confidence which has enabled him to achieve so much in a highly competitive sector of the UK economy.
