Biography
Globalisation is rapidly changing our world. Many business deals are now struck across international borders and multi-national companies often employ thousands of workers in different countries.
Carrying out business in this environment can be complicated and expensive with many pitfalls lying in wait for those unaware of potential problems.
As a leading corporate lawyer, Peter is an expert on the legal issues involved a wide variety of business deals, including those made in an international context. These deals are often worth many millions of pounds.
Not surprisingly, his work can be demanding and complex but Peter finds it very satisfying to help clients protect their interests when so much is at stake.
Peter studied law at Edinburgh University after leaving Dunfermline High School. He is now Head of the Corporate Department at the leading Scottish law firm Burness Paull LLP.
Peter actually trained at the firm before spending several years in the City of London with a top international law firm. He returned as a Partner and now holds a key, high-profile position within Burness Paull.
Of course, not all of Peter’s work takes place in an international context. As a keen football fan, he was also pleased to lead Burness Paull’s partnership with the charity, Street Soccer Scotland, which aims to help eradicate the terrible effects of poverty in Scotland through a range of football-based services and activities.
