Biography
An accredited specialist in both Personal Injury Law and Professional Negligence Law, Iain is a Partner with Balfour & Manson, one of Scotland’s leading law firms.
When things go badly wrong, good advice from a solicitor can be extremely important. Iain is therefore pleased that his knowledge and experience can help his clients at a time when they need it most.
As Iain points out, “my clients have often suffered life changing injuries and the work I do can make a huge difference to how they are able to take their life forward. This is a big responsibility and I try never to lose sight of the fact that a client’s claim may be the most important thing in their life at that particular time. I therefore strive for the best possible outcome in every case”.
Iain was appointed by the then Lord President of the Court of Session, Lord Gill, to be a member of the Scottish Civil Justice Councils Costs and Funding Committee. He acts as a peer reviewer for the Law Society, checking the standards of work done by other lawyers and he recently travelled to Beijing to deliver a series of seminars to Chinese lawyers on the topic of Quality Assurance. He has a strong interest in the Chinese law reform programme.
Away from work, Iain loves travel and enjoys visiting different countries all over the world. He is also an avid supporter of the Scottish football team and tries to go to all of their home and away matches.
