We work closely with The Law Society of Scotland on a range of projects which introduce school pupils to the legal system and those who work within it. These programmes involve many Impressive People from the legal community, both in Scotland and throughout the UK.

LCampbell100x122Speaking on behalf of the Society, Director of Education, Liz Campbell, states: “It is vital young people understand the central role law plays in our society. We are therefore delighted to partner the education charity Impressive People in a range of proven initiatives which help us achieve this important aim.”

Legal Q & As

classhandsup (2)The Law Society of Scotland has played a key role in establishing our programme of Question & Answer visits which often see lawyers return to their former schools. Members of the Society’s own team have also participated in the events which give young people an opportunity to discuss legal matters with an expert.

The Q&As feature individuals from all parts of the legal profession, including some of the most prominent lawyers in the land.

The Society also supports our State School Lawyers diversity initiative which highlights the crucial contribution made to all sectors of the legal community by individuals educated in state schools.

The programme helps raise the confidence and aspirations of young would-be lawyers from state schools.  Meanwhile the diversity of our participating individuals challenges outdated stereotypes of lawyers and the work they do.

The Law Society of Scotland is also a partner in our IPO Awards which recognise the national and international success of former state school pupils in a wide variety of fields.

We are currently consulting with the Society and our partner law firms to identify individuals from the legal community who will be presented with IPO Awards during 2015.
