Morton Fraser Solicitors are one of Scotland’s leading law firms. They participate in a broad range of education initiatives and became a Partner of Impressive People soon after our launch in 2014.

Exceptional

lurquhart100xMorton Fraser’s Chairman, Linda Urquhart, is a leading participant in our ground-breaking Exceptional initiative which identifies state school pupils of rare talent and then helps them maximise their potential by developing attributes such as self-confidence and determination. Linda works with a small group of highly-talented youngsters offering helpful advice and suggestions. Both the pupils and Linda greatly appreciate the relaxed, informal nature of the project.

State School Lawyers

charte100xMorton Fraser also feature prominently in our State School Lawyers initiative. Their team includes many talented lawyers who were educated at state schools including both Linda Urquhart, a former pupil of James Gillespie’s High School in Edinburgh, and Chief Executive, Chris Harte, who attended St Mary’s Academy in Bathgate, West Lothian.

Legal Q & As

classhandsup (2)Morton Fraser are strong supporters of our highly successful Legal Q&A sessions which take lawyers back to their former schools. This programme gives young people an opportunity to discuss legal issues with a practising lawyer and at the same time shows them that individuals from their school go on to work in important and demanding jobs.

IPO Awards

ipoawards160x75Morton Fraser also back our IPO Awards which recognise the national and international success of former state school pupils in a wide variety of fields. The first IPO Award was presented to the figurative sculptor Andy Scott by pupils of his former school at a ceremony in Glasgow City Chambers. We are very grateful to Morton Fraser for their part in making this and other IPO Awards possible.
